Meet Deanna DiMichele, Kona Wedding Officiant’s owner, operator, and licensed minister. Deanna feels blessed to be part of the most special day of her couples' lives and believes that Aloha is the most important element of a wedding in Hawaii.
Aloha has many meanings, but most of all, it means love. Deanna specializes in Hawaiian traditions and enjoys creating intimate, romantic ceremonies for couples. All couples and denominations are welcome in marriage and vow renewal at Kona Wedding Officiant.
Deanna believes that every wedding is a gift. She is passionate about bringing couples together in the sacred bond of marriage. Ceremonies are personalized to couples and elements such as Blowing Of The Pu are welcomed without additional fees. To create an ideal experience, all weddings are performed on secluded beaches whenever possible.
Deanna likes to work with couples to make their ceremonies feel right for them, offering numerous drafts and a variety of ceremony templates. Although she provides scripts and suggestions, it is okay with her to use ideas from couple to meet their wedding vision. She believes if you are coming all the way to Hawaii for your wedding, you should find some flexibility when you get here!
Deanna has a bachelor's degree from Stockton University in Philosophy and Religion. Deanna received a post baccalaureate degree in English Language Arts from the University of Hawaii Manoa, where she taught in Hawaii State for many years as a public school English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher.
Deanna has a strong background in Hawaiian cultures and traditions through her past work as a teacher in the state of Hawaii and her continued love of education. Deanna had the privilege to teach Hawaiian studies and Hawaiian history. There she was given the gift of working with Hawaiian Kumus where she learned protocols and traditions such as lei making, chants, and songs. She enjoys reading Hawaiian myths and legends and learning new Oli and Mele that she can bring to her wedding ceremonies.
Before moving to Hawaii, back in New Jersey, Deanna worked with hundreds of brides and grooms in a different way, as a professional wedding photographer.
In 2020, Deanna became the proud owner of the United States Registered Trademark Kona Wedding Officiant®. As Kona Wedding Officiant continues to grow, Deanna's love for her couples will never change! She truly believes she is blessed every day and has the best job on Earth.
