Claire and Alex wanted a simple beach wedding right in Kona town. Holualoa Beach is the perfect spot for a simple Kona beach elopement. This location is intimate, beautiful, and ideal for couples. The beach is tucked right off of Alii Drive and requires a rock scramble to reach. Sometimes during high tide and big surf, the beach access cannot be reached. If couples are planning on this location for their wedding, it should likely just be the two of them, they should be very good at maneuvering on slippery rocks, not be afraid of getting a little wet, and be prepared for unpredictable conditions. Also, couples should be flexible, because during winter swells or storms, a location change may be required (or being married right at the beach access entry). This location is not advisable for groups as it is small and can be difficult to access.
Claire and Alex, fortunately, were met with a beautiful beach day! Although there were a number of visitors onsite, they were very respectful of this couple and gave them a lot of space for their private ceremony. Claire and Alex were even gifted with use of a private lawn for some of their wedding photos (what a treat!).
