A Morning Beach Wedding
Updated: Jan 17, 2019
What About A Morning Wedding?
Most couples that inquire about wedding ceremonies want to have a sunset wedding in paradise. And honestly, who can blame them? The gold coast of Kona is not only home to some of the most beautiful beaches on Earth, but it is also home to striking sunsets. But, some of the most charming, relaxing, and intimate weddings are in the morning. I know, because my husband and I had our own ceremony at 9:00 am, and we wouldn’t change it for anything. After our ceremony, we had the entire day to enjoy our new title as husband and wife.
Manini`o`wali, known to locals as Kua Bay, is one of the most crowded beaches in West Hawaii. It is beautiful and offers incredible contrasts of black lava, white sand, and bright blue ocean hues. Kua Bay’s gates open at 8:00 am, and at this hour, is empty, and is perfect for a morning ceremony. The sun is wonderfully high in the sky, offering the bride and groom brilliant photographs. And the beach, for once--is empty--and magnificent for the early birds to enjoy. I would recommend any couple bring a suit, and revel in their new marriage in the surf.
